Combating DI Intake Valve Deposits - Ford Focus ST

Looking around for ideas on how to clean these valves, thought I'd revive an old thread. Below are how the valves in my Focus ST look at 24,000 miles. I've seen worse, but they're not great. Thinking about pulling the intake and using CRC's newest product to clean them while they're closed, and shop-vac out the garbage. https://www.crcindustries.com/crc-industries-awarded-patent-for-innovative-gdi-cleaning-technology/ I'm not going to do this while it's running, as it might be bad to have chunks of carbon impact the blades in the turbo.

Anyone attempted this yet?

^^^ That's quite the "black blob" on the valve stems. Water mist injection kit, but not sure is anyone makes a good aftermarket one. I know engines that use one for added power have intake valves and piston tops that look spotless. Probably not worth the hassle.

Or something like this - I here BG products work well.

Big dilemma right? To clean or not to clean.

If it weren't turbocharged, I'd give this a try. I'm seeing mixed reviews online, with some complaints that it didn't do much for the valves because it didn't get to soak long enough. Then others chime in and say that you have to repeat this several times before any good results come.

I have to remember what's downstream when I send stuff through the combustion chamber. I rather the valves stay dirty than to replace the turbo.
