Colorado Injector Problems

While I agree with ur vehicle in having bad quality as u have stated. If the injectors were severly clogged i doubt that was a manufacturing defect. That can happen due to one bad tank of gas. Not ur fault just bad luck

I would search for some sort of vacuum leak. A crack in a PCV line, a brake booster hose that is not sealing well, etc. The vehicle is pretty new, but I wouldn't rule this out.

The fuel filter is likely incorporated into the fuel pump. When the filter is clogged, a new fuel pump must be ordered if it is that situation.

I would not spend another dime on injectors or injector cleaner, but I would look into other causes of a vehicle that may run but not start well.

Since there are only four plugs, I would remove the wires from the plugs (nothing the location where each came), cycle the engine with the starter, then pull the plugs to see if they have fuel on them. If there is fuel, it probably isn't the injectors.

I'm not a mechanic, that's just where I would go with this problem. Additionally, I would consider checking for spark using a similar procedure -remove all wires and then one plug at a time, attach the appropriate plug wire , and touch it to the block to ensure that there is spark. You can also see if the plugs are correctly gapped at this time. If you remove the plugs before performing either of these procedures, you may be able to observe, based on plug color, if the engine is in fact running lean. - This can be a symptom of a vacuum leak or bad injectors, but I highly doubt injectors are the problem.

its back from the dealer. they installed a new program in the computer for just such problems. they said there was a tsb for this problem and cold idle roughness. i'm now just starting to think its all been a bunch of [censored] from the dealer. who knows if the tsb was out the previous two times it was at the dealer for this same problem?? so far it starts fine, but time will tell. next truck will be toyota or nissan. my wife's corolla gets little attention besides regular maintenance and runs like a top. like most hard-working Americans, i value quality and reliability in my vehicles, so like more and more Americans i will be switching to toyota or nissan truck next time. GM should be ashamed and alarmed to lose a lifelong customer. i'm no fool, this truck's quality is average at best and at worst unforgivable. they built it that way, and purposely so. toyota builds them better (in general) and thats why fewer problems. i bust my butt for the money i earn and dropping 15-20 grand on a vehicle is a huge deal to me. and i expect the stupid thing to at least be reliable with regular maintenance for at least 80-100,000 miles if not more!

Maybe some of your anger should be addressed to the incompetent dealership who did not fix it right the first time.

all injectors don't go out at once. Your dealer is clueless and you're going overboard and freaking out at GM.

..except that each injector has it's own feed. But, yeah that would be a wiring or PCM issue.

x2.

But because of dumb dealers, GM gets an additional bad name!

They're all spliced together somewhere. Somewhere between the injector and the fuse box. If the fault is between the fuse box and the splice, none of the injectors will work.

(I should point out that all the wiring diagrams I've ever seen show a common 12V supply to the injectors..and the PCM grounds the other side to turn the injector on).

The Colorado was traded for a new Tacoma. Obvious quality defects such as the paint on the steel wheels was coming off in 1" diameter flakes since new (replaced by dealer under warranty), gasket around 3rd headlamp began leaking at 20,000 miles (due to "not even put in right" per the dealer) ...same problem with the gasket around the windshield (leaked water and soap into cabin when in automatic car wash) rear drums that had to be reground twice since new because of high spots and causing them to grab excessively were not mentioned. The Colorado quality standards are not up to par. The worst vehicle I have ever owned. Again, all I have owned up 'til now is small Chevy trucks. Dealer was an idiot too, but took it to 3 different dealers over time (once on the road it wouldn't start) to address the same issue (was in 7 times for an A/C problem, counted 5 for the 'injector' problem, whatever it was) over 20 times total in 46,000 miles for warranty repairs. Its out there for sale somewhere, if you want the heap, you buy it. I'm relieved to be rid of it, and rid of GM. Again, I WAS a long time loyal GM owner.

Three different dealers could not solve your problems ?

Good to hear you got rid of it.
