Collinite Results!!!

Well the other day i set out to give my old '95 Grand Am GT
a once over for a test using Duragloss,Meguiars and Collinite
products,and all i can say is this thing shines like it never
did before,took me 9 1/2 hrs to do,all day.

my procedure was;

1-washed car by hand
2-dry car by hand
3-clay bared
4-applied by orbital buffer Meguiars swirl remover cleaner polish #9
5-removed step 4 with orbital buffer then buffed by hand
6-applied DG's 601 bonding agent by hand let hazed
7-applied DG's 111 by hand
8-removed 601 and 111 together by buffer then buffed by hand
9-after 1 hour of cure time applied Collinite 854 by buffer, let haze
10-removed collinite by buffer then buffed by hand

and wow this car shines the pics are not that good and don't do it justice,in person the shine is deep and dark,and for anyone that say's collinite is hard to remove are NUTS!!,came off very easy,for a test i applied it heavy in one spot and that came off easy too,great product i'm sold,i'm only using collinite from here on out.

lol..there was a few breaks in there wile products were drying
but yea LONG day..

Great results!!! Another Collinite convert, you never need to use another brand of wax.

After and during..lol

for this(test)job i had just a cheapo orbital buffer but now
that i know what kind of results i can achieve i'll get a better
one like PC or meguiars dual action polisher G110 or something
along that line.

I've been using a $20 coleman 6 inch orbital buffer for at least 10 years and have been getting fantastic results, using the right bonnet makes all the difference in the world, synthetic wool for polishing, foam for waxing, uffing by hand followed by a spray detailer will work wonders with little effort You don't need the big expensive one, I have a 10 inch heavy duty rotary buffer but find I don't even need that kind of power unless I'm doing finish work on a badly painted car.

The one i used is a 6" too, no power tho a little pressure and
it'll stall it down,when using a cutting compound to get rid
of heavy scratches and oxidation i'm going to need something more
then what i got is the thing,,not all my paints are pristine.

you use any micro fiber bonnets??

I wish I had the desire to do this to the exterior of my cars. I rely on the triple-foam at the car wash to help me out and put all my efforts and money into the mechanicals. Collinite is great stuff and I have used it before with great results.

Microfiber bonnets absorb too much of the product you're working with. Maybe only buffing but I do that by hand since it is quicker. They are also higher friction and bog down your machine plus if you had the power to run the microfiber at higher speeds the higher friction creates more heat and you risk burning the paint.

The only machine that can burn paint is a rotary. He is using a low power orbital.

No i only the the MF to remove product, and right slow or it'll
heat with friction,i get most off with that then a follow up all by hand..

Right,,,a rotary could do damage and not what's supposed to be
used in this type of work..at least not for me.
