Coleslaw: like it or don’t like it?

I don't understand. What do you mean "don't like it?"?

It's like asking whether you live with or without water. There is only one correct answer.

Plus there are a lot of different variations, some are sweet whereas some are very vinegary and some use mayonnaise but some do not. Some have celery seeds and green peppers in the recipe but others don't. Seems like if you try hard enough you could find a specific recipe for just about anyone unless the root problem is that you don't like cabbage.

I'm ambivalent. I'll eat it if it comes with the meal. But I never feel like it makes the meal. Don't make it at home, so it's only when eating out.

I can't stand anything at KFC, but their slaw for some reason really hits the spot.

I like the style of slaw, which I guess isn't technically slaw, but has the broccoli, bacon, and raisins in it. Now, that shizzle is sum darn fine eatins.

Also, not much beats a huge trough of ice-cold slaw with an equally cold beer on a 100+ deg summer day under the shade tree.(y)

I think its more of a personal taste thing. Some like it more like vinegar tasting and some like it creamy.

I like it creamy.

And cabbage is similar to broccoli with many checkmarks to indicate a very healthy food.

I personally like coleslaw unless it’s watery or real watery. Local mom and pop place up the road from me makes the best. Do you folks like it or no?
I agree. 40W coleslaw no 5W c*rap.

I've only tried one coleslaw that I liked. Was told it was Florida Slaw. Actually pretty good and I'm not a fan of the other slaws I've tried.

It really depends. I've had great sweet and savory coleslaw and downright terrible (way too sweet) ones. But in general, i like it.

It depends on how it's made. I grew up eating sweet, creamy coleslaw. So I like it like that. Most tart, vinegary slaws are not my bag.

How the Fireplace Restaurant in Paramus NJ made their house coleslaw always worked for me. That stuff was just magic together with their fried chicken and burgers. Haven't had it in 20+ years, and no idea whether that place is still in business, but it was the greatest concoction.

I like coleslaw unless it has mayo in it. I rarely eat BBQ without coleslaw. I also tend to have it with fish, especially fish&chips. Coleslaw must have a good crunch to it. No raisins - they make me gag.

This^.

To answer the OP's question, it depends.

If there is Kraft Mayonnaise in it, I’ll spit it out and move on. Heck, anything with Kraft Mayonnaise on or in it is horrible. Other brands of mayonnaise are okay.
