Does anyone have a voa of Coastal Fleet in the black bottle?

how good is this oil? anyone know the additve package etc ...

I've used it before back when I got a good discount on it. I never had any problems with it besides that it goes in the engine almost black and comes out very very black.

runnin the Coastal 75W90 gear oil in my manual transmission been in there for 6000 miles and when I get around 15K on the car(just went over 8k) I will drain/refill with amsoil. No problems with the gear oil, only time I have ever used a coastal product. No complaints.

When I called Coastal the rep said their CI-4 grade Fleet 15w40 had approximately 1200 ppm phosphorus, 1410 ppm zinc, and 2400 ppm calcium. Unfortunately, I forgot to ask how old the specs were.
I suspect those specs may be from when it received API CI-4 certification and thus may be a little of date.

Also, it never appeared dark to me out of the bottle, same color as any other motor oil.

So the black bottle is the cl-4 and the white botle is the newer not as good stuff right?

do you have a link to their website?

I do not have any experience with Coastal Fleet, but I did purchase a generous supply of Coastal full synthetic in 5w and 10w30. Somewhere around 100 quarts at $1 per quart. I have used this oil in all my vehicles and naturally I have had no problems. I have also used AAP house brand, O'Rielley's house btrand, Super Tech from Wally World all of which are reported to be Warren. I can report no difference in performance.
