'Coastal' Blending and Packaging in Canada?

Since June 1, 2009, 'Coastal' Blending and packaging has been producing Irving Oils lubricant line. They also make a line of oils called 'Cobra'...

Does this company have anything to do with the Coastal oil in the US that makes oil? It's been around for a while, but I've never heard of it in Canada...so if it's a totally separate company, weird that ti would have the same name?

Yeah Carquest carries the Irving Brand and looking at the spec's it seems to be better than avarage stuff.
The price is pretty reasonable at $24.95/5L jug for the syn'oil.
Their 0w30 is a light 30wt with similar performance to Mobil 1 0w30 which we can't get.

COASTAL Blending & Packaging is owned by Irving Oil and not in any way associated with Coastal Unilube or Warren Oil in the U.S. The company name was Irving Oil Limited, Lubricants Division until 2009. Whoa, that PAO racing oil is looking good for my backyard brew blends! I was racking my brain the other day trying to figure out which mainstream oil still used mostly PAO.

That's a very tough question to answer these days. Since PAO based products are more of a rarity, those who use PAO in their products will most likely draw attention to it.

The Irving Synthetic Racing Oil definitely needs the PAO to handle the heat and wear requirements of racing engines. The additive system is patented for friction modification properties.
