C'mon Honda get your act together

I put 30k miles on a '99 CBR1100XX, from new. The most disappointing bike I've ever owned.
Wow. I picked up a used 98 with under 5k miles in 99. Put 80k+ miles on it till 2008. Never had any of your problems. Only problem was getting the front wheel back down for the next corner! Ate tires for breakfast. Wish I never traded it. complete hoot to ride!

I'm glad you had better luck. Most of the problems I had were topics of discussion with other owners who experienced the same issues on a CBR1100XX website I belonged to back in the day. Complaints about the brakes and CCT's, were the most common.

The out-of-round rear sprocket was as far as I could tell, unique to my bike, at least among the group of owners on that one particular website. I can't imagine my bike was the only one that Honda put out with that flaw. But I don't know how many bikes might have been effected.

Thanks for the elaboration, I hadn't heard any of those issues in reading up on the 1100 XX when comparing to the ZX 11, ZZR 1200 which were the competition back in the day, other than the Hayabusa which obliterated them all
