In this day and age, everything should be buttoned up no matter where you live. That is the sad state of society these days.

For a eye opener get up and drive around at 0200-0300 or so. You will be amazed at the number of people just walking around. Nothing good happens at those hours.

Opportunity brings all this on people. Imagine having a grizzly bear or mountain lion in there. Assume nothing and have a walking dead or zombie apocalypse mentality about securing your surrounding. I can recommend the Doberman as I have had three and the bite now ask questions later process is fail proof.

I have a life size target I brot home from the gun range with ~ 12 holes from my 380 auto. I hung it on the door going from the garage into the house. If the tatget is not enought, I will use my 380 because I'm too old for hand combat. Ed

I am going to build my own security system for my shop when it’s built. Part of my trade is in PLC programming and industrial motor controls. I want to put photo eyes looking across the doors so that I can leave them up but still get a notification that the beam has been broken by someone or something.

We have a 2017 GSD model home alarm and protection system.

There have been increased thefts in my area. I have started locking the garage and vehicles up. House is also locked, but I don't worry too much as the German Shepherd will promptly scare anyone off.

There are 3rd party garage opener that you can set timer to. I have one off amazon that's $40 ($26 on sale), you have to wire it up yourself and then you can use wifi to remote control it, or after you set it on a temporary wifi turn the wifi off. You can have a schedule to open / close or timer to close after open for a time period. It can also keep a log and send you a notification on your phone via app when it is open or close, or open for too long.

Thank you- yes I did and while I sat on his back when I threw him into my living room it was dark ( no lights on)
I took off his shoes, belt was loose so I took it and looked for a wallet but he had none ( For evidence) . I took my duffle bags from him.
He was collecting valuables with them. As I was sitting on his back a car went by and the light revealed two clues. This dude had a huge
hawk beak type of nose and the back of his right hand had a red pyramid tattoo. He was so high and out of control that I got violent
with him to control him ( PCP) . With no phone close I decided to pick him up and throw him down the stairs and then opened the door
and threw him down the outside concrete stairs.
The picture is where the pistol barrel hit the hall wall as we danced down the hall.
I never painted or patched that mark. It is a wake up call for me to lock everything up before I leave.

The good stuff.......
When I grabbed him by the throat in the dark bathroom he tried to take me out by hitting me repeatedly with the pistol in the head.
For a second I thought he poured water on my head. It just strengthened my resolve to neutralize this scum.
It actually didn't hurt at all.
