I'm wondering what works best. I know michelin says mild soap and water only but it's seems not to get the whites clean. Any suggestions?

I used that on my show car RWL tires in the 1990's. Still have some too as I've had no RWL tires now for over 10 years.

Yep, this could almost be considered the only correct answer. Finding it is another story, these days.

if what you have is the old stuff, real Westley's Bleche wite, THAT is the good stuff.
a few years back they got bought out by Black magic, and it's no where near the same product.

This.. I used the Westley's for years then tried this. Can't tell any difference in how it cleans and it won't choke you if you breath the fumes..

Just be cautious with tire bleach or degreaser if you have alloy rims. You may need to rinse them off quickly as most of these products can cause corrosion.

That said, I did use westly's bleach-white for years on my Outback with alloys. I always tried to be careful where it ended up, and rinsed ASAP.

Did they really? Maybe they are just nowusing the name? As per the rear label on an old, original Westley's bottle: "for that deep, rich, wet look, apply Black Magic Super Thick Silicone after cleaning tires."

Sounds like you've been sniffing the fumes too much.
