I have to ask.. Saw Citgo Synblend on the shelf at the local Fleet Farm and it was on sale for 2.59 and than a buck a qrt. rebate and that figures out to be 1.59/qrt.--Heck of a price. Can anybody enlighten me on this oil? Thanks

Didn't want to give you the impression that money was tight, but just noticed it walking by and was curious. I do use synthetic in 2 of my vehicles; but wondered if I might give it a try in my high mileage Prk. Ave. that I have been using regular dino oil in from day one. Just thought for the winter coming and the price that I might give it a shot. And we all like to save a little anyway when we can, don't we?

That depends. You can use Dino and change the oil more often thus in the long run spending more money. Or you can use a semi synthetic or synthetic and have a longer interval but you'd be spending more money in the short run. This all depends on how much you drive the car. I personally wouldn't run Citgo because I don't really know anything about that oil. I am a huge Mobil 1 fan but since I can't get any of that here I have to settle for Valvoline. And I'm surprised because it's actually really good. I'd recommend Maxlife semi or full synthetic. Or any Mobil product. I can't recommend Pennziol because I've never used it.

I've never had a problem when using this oil. It is bottled in Oklahoma. The only place that I've ever seen it sold on a shelf was at a farm store.

Hi! Lexus 114--I'm using QSUD and Cenex Maxtron in the Corolla. Picked up a Rav4 and am using M1HM in that but am changing the PCV valve to see if the oil consumptin goes down a bit. If it does than I'll use QSUD in that also.--But in the Prk.Ave. I went back to Havoline as the Quaker State seemed to burn off more. So I just burn the dino in the Buick. Saw the cheap price on the Citgo and was just curious about it.

My current stash is primarily Citgo 5W-20 and 5W-30 syn blends; they don't bother making a conventional 5W-30 or 5W-20 since mfg requirements probably couldn't be met. All picked up from $1.25-$1.75 / qt after MIR.

Blended and bottled in the US.

I think it is the best deal around.

Citgo has major operations in the United States, you're supporting American workers.

I had a similar deal or Orschelns (another farm store chain) several months ago. I bought a case of Citgo and with the rebate it was something like $1 a quart. I've used up the case without an engine blowing up and I got the rebate in a timely manner. I guess it doesn't matter if my money went to Hugo with this purchase because no matter who I buy oil from, people will tell me that my money went to some evil corporation.

M1 HM was recommended because it might cut down on oil consumption and as we speak my pcv valve is being changed so I will see how the oil situation goes. I have 4 jugs of QSUD sitting for use--I use the Cenex Maxtron because of the sale price I got it for-(3.25 a qt). It seems to be ok, but I do still like the QSUD and will keep using it. With over 205,000 on my Buick I'm just going to keep burning Havoline as I can get that at about 13 bucks a jug and I have been running dino in that since day one and it seems to be doing fine. The toyotas will see synthetic in them always.
