Actually yes ... Venezuelan crudes are heavy and loaded with metals which is why most refinerys can't process them into anything but asphalt .
Take a look at cruse prices ... the better quality crudes go for top dollar .
A crude like Nigerian Bonny Light is much more expensive than Venezuelan Boscan .

when the revenue from oils , natural gas are used to build the military or used as leverage ( EUROPE ) then it's a political issue .

I prefer to think of it as helping China buy our soon-to-be-next-to-worthless Treasury bonds.

Besides, even our military buys lots of Chinese computers, monitors, and keyboards. Plus, military exchanges look a lot like Wallmarts now, with all the Chineese sourced items.

In my experience, Citgo is just plain bad gas.

I would push my car past a Citgo station before I would ever buy anything that Chavez is involved in!!!!

YES!

The Arabian Leaders don't come to our country and bad mouth our Nation and it's leaders. Saudia Arabia/Aramco invests and has stood next to America from the start. A Russian base and a nucular reactor...and who know's what else. This reminds me of what our past/dead President Kennedy took a firm stance on.... Nobody gets too close to our Nation with rockets....Remember?

I cringe every time I pull into a Citgo station. So what is my alternative? Help fund the guys with the box cutters? Iran?

My 77 Chevy LUV still gets better gas millage than newer trucks, and my 02 Cavalier hits the mid 30's on a trip. I try to plan ahead and reduce driving. I keep my stuff running good and do stuff like try to time red lights to avoid stopping. I will even park and walk a block to avoid circling for blocks on one way streets.

Maybe I need to break my new dino every 3 months whether I need it or not. I do recycle my used oil.

We need to find major ways to use less oil.

Picked up 24 qts of 5W-20 UltraGard SynBlend for $1.69/qt. Made in the US.

FYI Citgo has donated 100 million gallons of fuel oil to needy US families, a program, that due to low oil prices, has been discontinued.
