CI-1 and CJ-4

A little more information would help, what Diesel engine or vehicle. If it has a DPF and/or SCR maybe not.

More info would need to be given, but we can make some generalities.
Just about all API specs are backwards compatible for their intended application. CJ-4 would cover CI-4, but not the other way around. A "diesel" is a very loose description; we'd want to know about the specifics.
If UOAs are the intent, then mixing the fluids will confound some of the inputs; not that it cannot be done but it makes for odd add-packs and chemistry interactions may affect the UOA. Generally the chemistry interaction will NOT affect the equipment, however. If UOAs are not the intent, and just using up some old oil stock is the goal here, it's probably OK.
