Woot! I'm frankly amazed, I didn't think they'd make it, although I really want them to.
I got a really good look at the re-styled 2011 Charger a few weeks ago, and WOW. Its a completely different look than the previous one, and a much more suitable homage to the 2nd-generation (68-70) Charger that we all know and love. I could now deal with the Charger instead of a Challenger as "my midlife crisis car" and still have 4 doors for the family ;-)
I also had an Avenger rental last week. I have been absolutely disgusted and horrified by my previous Avenger or Sebring rentals for the past many years, but the big re-work that came with changing the name of the Sebring to "200" also took effect on the 2011 Avenger, and its like a completely different vehicle. Its still based on the same chassis, but so much has been changed both cosmetically and functionally that its for all practical purposes a brand new car. Even in cheapened-down white exterior/black interior rental trim, it was tight, QUIET (we're talking Ford Panther quiet here!) and comfortable. Mine had the 2.4L GEMA engine but the variable valve timing on the GEMA really made a huge difference compared to the old 2.4 in my wife's PT. Not blistering, but not a danger to others I'll bet the Avenger with the Pentastar v6 absolutely screams. But it turns the wrong wheels, so I'm not as interested as I am in the Charger.
