Another reason to do oil change yourself.

Although my bad oil/filter change experiences were quite long ago, I do understand your concerns.

*I’ve paid for an OCI that wasn’t performed
*Oil not put back into the engine while the tech was backing out the car
*Filters put on so tight thatI crushed it trying to remove on the next OCI
*CV joint boots razor sliced(sabotaged) while the tech did the OCI
*In each case, I caught them and forced them to make good on each service/repairs and technicians were fired.

I once had a clutch done at a bit of a shady shop , they did the job ok, but the guy punctured a Cv boot accidentally, i hope, and didn't tell me or maybe he didn't even notice, pretty old guy , and he snapped off the reverse light switch on the transmission, i didn't get too mad as he let me bring my own parts and only charged me the labor ,boh well, both things were pretty simple fiixes, and I think he's retired now, whatever.

My worst experience at a shop is when a guy changed the u joints on a driveshaft, bought the wrong ones, didn't care, they were too small and fitted loose and welded them on.
Back when i was not so mechanical minded.
Eventually i had a brand new shaft made and that was it.

Couple times I found that the plug was barely more than finger tight—and I was the one who put it in. Had snug them up a bit more, apparently my hand is out of calibration.
I got some "fiber" washers off eBay for my Camry that compressed over time, leaving me with a loose plug when I went to change the oil again. Incredibly, they didn't leak. I switched to aluminum crush washers and got rid of that problem.

I just did a '17 Taco....you've gotta pull the factory skidplate. I don't understand why Toyota would do this because it's a recipe for disaster with the typical LOF "tech"

This is what you get on one of the skidplate bolts -- but honestly, the fact that all four were even present is amazing

edit: owner confirms Jiffy Lube did it last

My niece took here CX-5 to a jiffy lube because the local dealer closed down during COVID. She noticed a rather large leak on her driveway and she took it back. They said the valve cover was leaking so they fixed it no charge!!! Nice guys and so honest :).
