Unfortunately if something goes wrong I will go to my trusted mechanic that has been a Jeep shop for more than 3 decades. Told me that if my rockers crap out it's $1,000 job+1 The less they have their hands on your car the better.

It takes me a minimum of 2 hours to change my oil, how the dealership does it in 30 minutes is beyond me. I wait for every last drop to come out and then I pour half a quart of fresh oil to force everything out
Takes me 20 minutes. Time is not an indication of a quality job nor is it even required to do a quality job.It takes me a minimum of 2 hours to change my oil, how the dealership does it in 30 minutes is beyond me. I don't do anything in those 2 hours, I just wait for the last dropTakes me 20 minutes. Time is not an indication of a quality job nor is it even required to do a quality job.
I have heard that many times, yes you cannot get all the oil out, but at least I can wait for the last drop out of the oil panI'm sure it makes you feel better to take 2 hours (MINIMUM), but you can do a good job in 20-30 minutes. Getting every last drip/drop out isn't necessary, you're not getting all of it out anyway - without disassembling the engine.
You're wasting your time, but if it satisfies your OCD, It's all good.I don't do anything in those 2 hours, I just wait for the last drop
No I do my laundry and other stuff in those 2 hours. It's not like I'm a staring at the oil pan for 2 hoursYou're wasting your time, but if it satisfies your OCD, It's all good.
You're wasting your time in trying to accomplish whatever you think you're accomplishing with these two hour drains. No I do my laundry and other stuff in those 2 hours. It's not like I'm a staring at the oil pan for 2 hours![]()
Reminds me of a lot of federal workers that are learning about the private sector. No more in office libraries to check out books so you can read them on the job in your cubicle.Chronic lazy complainers who found out what the real world had to offer.
There is no other better way AFAIK.Henry created a monster with the assembly line process.
Profit also entails the vehicle's don't last as long, planned obsolescence as has been pointed out in the forum before. IIRC someone stated that a Cobalt is rumored to have been built to last only 6 years. Warranty work is only for the most egregious screw-ups and to address complainers. It's not keeping cost any lower, it's generating higher profit for the manufacturer who then turns around and dumps billions into warranty work.
