Chrysler Pentastar manufacturing video

It takes me a minimum of 2 hours to change my oil, how the dealership does it in 30 minutes is beyond me. I wait for every last drop to come out and then I pour half a quart of fresh oil to force everything out

I watched Car Care Nut's recent video where he says multi point inspection is a fat lie, dealerships never do it. He says he doesn't do it at his shop either unless the customer asks for it and PAYS for it. He has a shop to run and doesn't work for free. So I am not missing anything by not going to the dealer. I take a bright flashlight, get under the Jeep and check for any leaks and that's all.

I'm sure it makes you feel better to take 2 hours (MINIMUM), but you can do a good job in 20-30 minutes. Getting every last drip/drop out isn't necessary, you're not getting all of it out anyway - without disassembling the engine.

I have heard that many times, yes you cannot get all the oil out, but at least I can wait for the last drop out of the oil pan

Chronic lazy complainers who found out what the real world had to offer.
Reminds me of a lot of federal workers that are learning about the private sector. No more in office libraries to check out books so you can read them on the job in your cubicle.

Henry created a monster with the assembly line process.
There is no other better way AFAIK.

It's not keeping cost any lower, it's generating higher profit for the manufacturer who then turns around and dumps billions into warranty work.
Profit also entails the vehicle's don't last as long, planned obsolescence as has been pointed out in the forum before. IIRC someone stated that a Cobalt is rumored to have been built to last only 6 years. Warranty work is only for the most egregious screw-ups and to address complainers.

If the billions were sent into engineering and QC, then the manufacturers would sell less cars.
