chose July 4th to apply....

I chose the 4th of July to apply to become a citizen of this country...I thought that date was the best I could pick

I just became eligible to apply after being a permanent resident here for 4 yrs...Wifey and I filled out everything yesterday (July 4th), and have to make a few copies still...then off it goes, and in about 6-9 months I should have the interview (during which the decision is made immediately..I'd like that; a lot better than waiting to hear from them like I had to when I became a perm. resident)

Yes, I'm originally from Sri Lanka, and met my wife in Bonn, Germany (she's originally from TN, USA) while she was studying as an american exchange student in Germany...(I was studying in Bonn, Germany at the same time)...after about 3 yrs of dating (some of it long distance) we decided to get married..I came to U.S. in 2002
