Who chews tobacco and what do you chew?

Been chewing skoal straight long cut for about 6 years. Chewed cope for about 5 years before skoal.

Every now and then I get a can of General Mini Mint Portions- its a Swedish snus. Not a big fan of American chew...

How long have you had the habbit?

I have been off and on for about 16 years

Copenhagen Snuff for the last 24 years now. Started when I was 11. Wish to God I could quit.

I hear ya bud. I stop then I do an activity that i used to do while having a chew such as camping, fishing, working on my chevelle. During those time I get the devil on my shoulder tapping he say " A chew would be perfect right now ". Off to the store I go. As I spend less time at the shop I find myself chewing even more. I may try a pouch for the first time so i don't take such a large pinch or something....I dunno.

I get a really big urge to smoke when I am working on my car or yard. Quit bout a year ago, but when I do those activities I am really wanting a smoke. I guess our brains associate a pleasure of ours with smoking, or in your case chewing. So when you do that activity, your brains like wheres the cigarette?

I quit dipping copenhagen in 2001(had started in 92) and for a a couple of years it was hard as mentioned , activity related. I don't miss it at all anymore. THe trigger was losing my cousin to throat cancer and being slightly vain I wanted to keep my teeth. Terribly addictive stuff though.

I seen pics of what that stuff can do, coupled with the awful smell and addictive nature of the stuff, was enough to make me a non-partaker for life. Generally anything that is addictive probably isn't good for you.

My stepdad chewed Cope for the longest time, but finally kicked the habit. My mom carries around a small bag of whole cloves in her purse, if he's in need of a dip after a few beers or whatever, he just pops some of those.

Yeah, as a smoker I understand that it's not the same. But the physical process of having something in your lower lip can help. Sunflower seeds are good too. I've been chewing a lot of seeds lately to keep my mind off of smoking. Especially after a few beers, all that salt tastes pretty good.

The only thing I chew is broken glass....oh wait, that's not me- that's Chuck Norris.
Many of the guys in my Kenpo school chew. I think it's a Ranger thing, since that seems to be who does the chewing.
