Has anybody used Chevron ATF in their cars? I stopped by a local Chevron station to pick up a drink. I wandered over to the oil section. They stocked their ATF and coolant also. I never knew Chevron had their own ATF and coolant.

So does Chevron make this stuff or does another company make it for them? They had it priced at $2.39 a quart. Thats a pretty good price.

Might use it if I can find someone to buy it for me at Costco.

You actually drink that stuff?

They make it themselves.

Not a great price at all considering that Costco charges less than $20/12-qt case.

Chevron makes full lines of consumer and industrial lubricants, high quality too. I am wondering how chevron compares against Exxon superflo ATF, priced at $1.79.

I didn't know Costco carried Chevron ATF. I know I have seen Chevron Supreme and Delo there. I have to look a little harder next time.

Actually Chevron Dexron/Mercon ATF on any parts shop runs $2.20/Q but in Costco it is way less something like $1.5/Q becoz they probably buy this stuff from Chevron directly in millions of gallons.

I tried to see if a local Chevron distributor would match the Costco price but not even close.. FYI, the price of the Chevron distributor was more than the auto shops!!!

So it all about how much the distributors pick up from Chevron that determines the price.

I've run Chevron ATF in my Toyota Sienna for 60,000 miles so far. I got it thru a distributor in Connecticut for $1.50 a quart. It has calmed a slight shudder I had around 60mph.

If you can't find Chevron, Penzoil ATF is available at Wal-Mart and Home Depot now...

I've used it for the last 75K miles in my Volvo S70 and have used it for at least 125K miles in my Jeep Grand Cherokee. Like all Chevron lubes, it's very good. I normally buy mine from Kragens/Checkers/Shucks for $0.49 on sale with rebate.

I've got Chevron ATF in the manual transmission and power steering system of my pickup (both of which require MERCON ATF). Here in Southern California, it's readily available at Kragens, occasionally for about $1/quart.*

I'm also running Chevron Supreme coolant in the truck. I bought this stuff at Chevron gas stations, for about $9/gallon for the concentrate. That's about what PEAK and Prestone conventional coolants are sold for in the parts stores, based on some quick checking.

No problems so far, although realistically I think any of several widely available fluids would give me identical results.

* - The frequent newspaper coupons for motor oil occasionally apply to ATF, as well. Around $1 per quart, and about $0.50 per quart after rebate if you buy an entire case.
