Excellent oil and will provide your toyota with all the protection it needs.
I've run Chevron 5w30 conventional well below zero starts in many engines over the years with NEVER a starting problem.
Its good oil. Really!

The problem with Chevron is that they don't have their name painted on one of those self propelled billboards at NASCAR events. If they did it would make their oil much better. People would say I want the best and I use Chevron Supreme.

Not that much difference between 5w-20 and 5w30 as far as cold visc.
I found some Chevron Supreme 5w30 & 10w30 (SL) at the local Big-Lots for $9/5gal jug. Seems like a reasonable price .. found the VOA's and they look prety good too - contains moly. I'm thinking of stocking up a little for my daughter's 99 Saturn ??
I'm looking for a good alternative ... the Saturn has been getting DELO 400 15w40 in the summer and Rotella 5w40 in the winter ... also gets Auto RX .. It runs great (120kmi) but uses about 1.5 qts between 3k OCI's. I just did a change with Castrol High Mileage 5w30 but the Chevron looks good too. ??
The Rotella 5w40 price has been rising .. about 4$/qt around here - and I'd like to save the "vintage" CI-4 DELO 400 stash for my Duramax Diesel.
Any suggestions are appreciated ..

At that rate of consumption, you want to stick with a cheap oil, but Hi-Miles oil is a good option. Havoline DepositShield comes in Hi-Miles version. Not many have used it yet, but it promises to be a good product. Auto-Rx additive cycle is a good idea too, as well as a "piston soak", which is almost no-cost.
Chevron Supreme now is identical to Havoline deposit shield it looks like, as far as the data sheets. Excellent! As soon as Checker as the good ol coupon with rebate, I shall stock up. Better cold weather specs than the previous versions.
In all honesty, you're not gonna see a real world difference between the very latest formulations of SM/GF-4 conventional oils. 5,000 cP CCS compared to 5,800 at the same temp is meaningless, bith likely having less than 20,000 cP cold pumping. Now, and SH rated oil with a -25 degree pour point, 6,500 cP CCS, and like 40,000 cP cold pumping, yea, you'd likely get a nastier cold start at the limits (-22 degrees).

Yes, agree .. we bought the car with 80k miles … went through the engine and got it running well … also did the piston soak with GM piston cleaner followed by two ARX clean/flush cycles .. at first it reduced the oil consumption down to less than a quart between OCIs.. now at 120kmi it’s back up … probably due for another soak .. the ARX is also cleaning the engine .. there was a thick varnish on the inside of the oil filter adapter that is gone…
I changed the oil in the Rav4 yesterday taking out '06 Chevron Supreme and using '05 Havoline (got it at Family Dollar cheap) - both SM 5w30. So far, Havoline feels thicker. The temp was in the upper 50's this morning and I will see how it runs in the middle of the day to see if it was temp related.
I saw the Chevron Supreme SL 5 qt bottle also at Big Lots. The SL rating on it concerns me because of how long it has been on the shelf (or in a warehouse). With everyone in this forum stock piling oil, two year old oil does not seem that long and should be okay as long as I shook the bottles for 2 minutes (per a post in another thread).

How much is the 5 quart jug at Big Lots?
Costco has this for roughly $1.7x or so per quart.
