Has anyone tried the Chemical Guys Citrus Wash and Gloss Car Wash soap? It is supposed to be a very strong product that can be used for both maintenance washes and wax stripping.

The guys over on AutoGeek seem to be pretty happy with it:

When purchased directly from Chemical Guys, the price is $26/gal shipped for me. Considering the recommended dilution ratio is 1/2 oz per two gallons, it seems to be fairly economical.

What do you guys think?

i use the 16oz bottles and it works well for me, it gives the paint some gloss and it cleans dirt and grime off real good. I recommend it

I bought a gallon a few years ago and liked it fine, but it lost some of its sudsing ability over time. It's almost like it went stale. I threw out the last 1/2 gallon of it.

Still have the gallon of Maxi Suds II, so maybe I got a gallon from a bad batch or something.

What is a maintenance wash? If it strips wax, then you have to wax every time you wash with it, no? Maybe that is a maintenance wash, where you only wax the car & not the whole enchilada.

Maintenance wash is a type of wash done in-between sealant and/or clay/polish/seal jobs. Maintenance washes are not supposed to strip off any sealant or protection.

No, not really. You need a petroleum solvent to remove tar and grease. A bottle of tar remover is around $4.00 at any auto parts store. Use that, then wash the area (preferably the entire car) with a good shampoo to remove any residue.
