I'm O+ also and animal products and Ice Cream are my mainstays for well over 40 years.

No tolerance problems, no high sugar, am a lean person.

Carry on with Ice Cream! Had 3 big bowls yesterday!

Anyone ever try Schwans Ice Cream? Yummy.

Well, that sounds good for today, but where are you tomorrow? A craving for all that ice cream could be a deficiency symptom of a nutrient you need, and probably will not get in IC.

You two type Os are probably secretors, which are much more common than non secretors. A non secretor has much more problems.

100 years ago, people didn't gorge on sugar foods like ice cream. I tend to think you're pushing your luck with your health with all that ice cream.

You remind me of someone I know that drinks 20 cups of coffee a day and smokes cigarettes, at age 56. He seems to think it's OK, and for his sake, I hope it is.

I say moderation is a better idea. Even 10 cups of coffee a day is extreme, IMHO.

I heard it's got Dihydrogen Monoxide in it, though! Don't eat too much, that stuff corrodes steel! Also, the disaccharide sugars in it can cause some digestion troubles!
Isnt that Hydrogen Hydroxide? I had french vanilla 'made in Maine', and it had avian embryos in it!

It's owned by the Lever Bros. When they bought the brand, Lever promised to stick with the socially conscious ways ben and Jerry conducted their business. I think they are still consultants for the brand.

How can B&J be socially conscious when they separate themselves from 1/2 of the Country with their open views?

That's socially polarizing, IMO...

How is this socially polarizing?

Since 2003, Ben & Jerry's have been working on a sustainable Caring Dairy initiative, which helps level out needs of the farmers and their cows, as well as the planet's needs. The company has, so far, reduced energy use on their 11 farms by 2%, and converted all their farms to green energy. Also, in 2002, Ben & Jerry's in the USA committed to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 10% by 2007, and by investing in a variety of efficiency measures, this target was achieved with ease - the USA now produce 32% less carbon dioxide emissions (per pint of ice cream) today (in 2008) than in 2002. This initiative was brought to the exclusive provider of milk for Ben & Jerry's European ice cream production, Beemster Cheese, in 2007.

In addition to helping farmers and their cows, in 2001 Ben & Jerry's began sourcing vanilla, cocoa, and coffee, for their smooth ice creams, from cooperatively run farmer associations - these community structures help promote their members' quality of life, improve worker's benefits, and sustain a commitment to their land and communities. In 2006, the world's first ever vanilla ice cream made with Fairtrade ingredients was launched by Ben & Jerry's. 2007 saw the release of Vanilla Toffee Crunch, using 100% Fairtrade certified cocoa, sugar, and vanilla, and in 2008, Chunky Monkey was guaranteed to be traded in accordance with international Fairtrade standards as well.

I'm not sure what part of Michigan you are in. If you are anywhere near SE Michigan, try the Calder Dairy and Farm in Carleton, MI.

They have great ice cream and the best chocolate milk you have ever tasted. All made on-site fresh.

Dude. We're talking about TWO different things! I was talking about their "you know what" views, which does not agree with 50% of the Nation, not efficiencies...............

How did you link the two? You can't link. Will you answer this question, I doubt it.

All you wanted to do is get your spiel out........

Ha! Just another example.

We must be defining 'social responsibility' differently. Yours is more like 'political views' while mine is more like 'sustainable business practices'.
