Need 2 front tires for a 13 Versa and usually I would hit the used tire place or junkyard for some $30 tires, but I see Walmart has the correct size for $45: https://www.walmart.com/ip/Douglas-All-Season-185-65R15-88T-Tire/49021619 Anything cheaper? Can I use a next size wider tire that is even cheaper for some reason? https://www.walmart.com/ip/Douglas-All-Season-195-60R15-88H-Tire/49021621 And I assume THIS ad is a scam: https://bkinstore.com/product/douglas-all-season-tire-195-65r15-91h-sl/

Check simple tire. I’ve always found their tires cheaper but you’re also trading off for a lesser brand. Douglas is a decent economy brand.

Nissans don’t like mismatched tire sizes. They have to be the same size front and back or the ABS system will glitch out after about 1/4 mile of driving.

Avacado is right. I would just wait until the fourth of July weekend and see if you can get a good deal at Discount Tire on some Senturys.

Douglas makes a fine tire but that size should be available for $10 used if you have the time to shop.

You don't want wider tires on the front as they might have significantly more grip than the rear which isn't safe on the street. Fun on the autocross course though!

Are you going to drive the car with these tires or sell it? if you are going to drive it I recommend the Douglas and drive on. any cheaper is risking safety.

if it were my car I would go all the way round with General RT43s low cost tire that can ride with the most expensive tires on the market. smooth ride quiet and most importantly stops great in the rain.

No-not really. This argument has been proven false on here-i.e. Chinese tires are inherently unsafe.

I never said Chinese. He was talking about used tires and other methods to get cheap tires. I used to buy the bottom of the line tires from sears and when I finally got some good tires in my car the difference was night and day. Way better on wet roads. quieter ride, longer wearing, you name it, it was better. not all of the cost of the more expensive tires is markup. some is actual build quality.

Selling. People like to hear, brand new tires, in a car ad. Most folks think at least $75-$80 out the door per tire and don't know how cheap these are price wise, If they cost much more I'd be looking used, but for only $15 more and needing just two, why not.

I Would recommend the Douglas tires if price is the main factor you are looking for. They are Economy Private label tires for Walmart that are made by Goodyear. They are good for "in a pinch" and you don't want to break the bank. Extra bonus for me was that the Douglases i bought for my Veloster were made in Oklahoma. Starfire is another decent Economy line tire from Cooper.

Check Amazon for tires. You maybe able to pick up some Starfires which should be a little better than the Douglas tires.

Does Wm do free mount and balance? - that is a big cost factor.
On a car sale $45/tire is cheap enough.
How much can you milk a stone?
I have a tire machine and balancer and wouldn't even have to pay tax. That's why it's almost a no brainer to buy new in this case. Those two examples are 2 hours round trip.

I can never find better deals on tires than what you can find online through Walmart.

I put these on our 2015 Nissan Versa some months back. They look new yet. No issues, but very little miles put on them. Maybe 3K miles?
For ~$10 more per tire, I'd for sure use Douglas.
