I'm seeing a couple of inexpensive steam cleaners on TV, etc. and (of course) they act like they really degrease the oily grime on engines, etc. Having never even tried the pay unit outside carwashes, how well does either work? I like the idea of hitting a warm engine with steam better than a cool motor with water plus detergent.

We have a Scunci Steamer and here's what I think of it:

It's not powerful enough to really do much.

However, the Shark steam cleaner is much better, but a bit pricier. The Shark steam cleaner is $100 while the Scunci steamer is $60.

My pick: Definitely the shark steam cleaner. My uncle has one and loves it.

Which Shark steam cleaner model does your Uncle have? Seems like there's several.

I didn't know there were more than one versions of the Shark. Anyway, my uncle just bought it a week ago at Target, so I'm assuming it's the newer model. It looks just like the one they have on the infomercials.
