Remember also there are 1) multi vehicle ATFs like Amsoil and (they can do that because there is a large overlap in the various ATF specs) 2) the "universal ATF" a quick lube place mixes up to work in your vehicle.

1 - YES. I will use it in my vehicle
2 - run like the dickens before they add any to my vehicle

I don't think there is a problem with using non SP-III in a Hyundai transmission, but I would use SP-III during the warranty period.

Why would you say that you can use any thing other than SP-III? What proof and what history do you have? Please explain your answer.

I wouldn't worry about filling your trans with Hershey's Chocolate Syrup. That may not be factual or true, but I have no proof or evidence it will work.

Explain why Multi ATFs are good enough for KIAs and not for Hyundai? Aren't they almost the same transmissions?

They are the same identical ones all parts say Hyundai/Kia on them including filters from dealer.

One, its Castrol its a name brand. Two, it says it meets SP-III guidelines. Hyundai want's SP-III fluid, its going to get it and it did. They are fine for both if SP-III approved, not sure who said they were not.

The TSB I quoted specifically says they are not approved, so I want to know why you think they are. There is a difference between Castrol saying it's ok, and Hyundai saying it's ok.

From experience this company released this TSB because Hyundai was not covering warranty repairs when other fluids were used. Most other manufacturers are ok with Multi ATF use under warranty except Hyundai

I don't care what Hyundai says. The car shifts far superior with the after market fluid than with their over priced SPIII. Castrol meets the requirement, I'm using it and have had no issues doing so.
