Change oil every 2k?!

My recommendation would be 500 miles when you mostly idling. 5000 miles on the highway. 😎

Sheesh! I wouldn't buy a car with an engine that's that hard on oil. That would have mean having 80 oil changes on my 2018 Ram 1500 by now. :ROFLMAO:
That would be 185 oil changes on my BMW...which still has the original engine (not rebuilt) and daily driven... :) (369,000 miles as of today).

Since new, the oil and filter is changed every 7,500 miles (half the recommended interval) using BMW (longlife) LL-01 or LL-04 specification oil.

There are similarities to the Tokyo based high-end sushi chefs who use medical grade freezers to preserve their blue-fin tuna sushi to capture nuanced delicate flavors, texture and aroma. Is it a once in a lifetime experience. Absolutely!

The Japanese sometimes are perfectionists but it not realistic or pragmatic. In other words ur body processes a can of Bumble tuna or a slice of blue-fin tuna sushi, exactly the same way.

There is no downside to his recommendation and he isn't paying for the maintenance...so I get it. Kinda like the car dealer recommending the "while you are in there" add ons with services. Upside is a happy customer if done...if that other part not replaced breaks two months later, the customer comes in complaining..."why didn't you tell me?!"

Plus in Japan, its such a small country, it would probably take the average exotic car owner three years to put 2k miles on their car anyway...as there is so much traffic, tolls and parking hassles with driving.

Change the oil every 2k?!?!?

Yeah. I won’t be doing that even with YOUR oil you GAVE me. Thanks.

Well, shoot, if the oil is bad at 2000 miles, then wouldn’t changing it every 500 miles result in “better protection”?

I mean, I want to do what’s best for my car, and it’s “cheap insurance”, so, I’m thinking every 500!

Who’s with me!

😎

For extreme use engines (extensive idling, stop and start traffic, short trips etc.), I'd say it sounds reasonable.
Considering my use falls into those categories, that's about how often I change mine.
Usually occurs every 6 months or so.
🤷‍♂️
