Change it or let it ride a little longer?

The FJ has mobil1 high milage oil in it. The olm comes on every 5k. It came on yesterday.

I can't use my oil change spot as it's blocked at the moment. The girls have to put about 120 miles on it Friday in desert heat.

I really don't want to lay in the dirt/ rocks to drain the oil.

I'm thinking that the oil is probably ok for a few more days/ miles past 5000.

I wouldn't worry about changing it until after.
However, that logic is how I ended up going over 10k on the grand marquis once. Figured I'd wait until I changed the timing chains to do the oil change. Ended up having a lot of life happening ...

That engine is probably perfect for the MityVac. Here's the GS350 V6; it might be better than pulling the plug.

Run it a bit longer and test it.
Sounds like it's not in danger of fuel dilution.

I'm thinking you've been here for over 20 years, and should know by now what the answer is. ;)
Why would you even think a few more days or miles is a risk? 🤷‍♂️
You could probably double the OCI with that oil and 1GR-FE engine and be perfectly safe. (y)

Personally, what I prefer with dealing with a situation like this is to take the long trip at the end of the interval…that way I know I ended the interval by squeezing out as much as I can out of that oil before changing it. But that’s just me.
