Champ filters... opinions?

Champ filters is the jobber brand line for Champion Labs (now owned by Fram).
That means it you will probably see their "E-Core" in many of their filters. E-Cores have their occasional issues and a search of the filter section here should give you plenty of info.
Just an average filter line IMHO, not the best nor the worst.

The non-'E-core' Champ filters for my Subaru and wife's Toyota have been solid, well-made filters. I like them more than Purolators but Puros are much easier to get my hands on.

Casite aren't the best by their maker, Clarcor. Champ aren't the best by their maker, Champion Labs. I wouldn't buy either.

A company buying two independent, seperate companies and bringing them together is a lot different than Fram owning Champ, which seemed to be what you said.
Anyway, do you have any links about Fram now being in charge? I'd be interested in reading them.

eh...the only thing i like about the new E-Core style tapping plate are the larger inlet holes.

I generally like Champ Labs filters. I'm not an e-core hater.
I did have one CL filter cause my Hyundai to knock, but they're known to do that with some aftermarket filters. I don't know if it was an e-core or not.
It will be interesting to watch how the Fram/Champ Labs filters change now that the two companies are under one corporate umbrella.
