I've seen this brand around here as long as I can remember. They do offer high quality API certified oils.

Mostly I see SAE30 and SAE40 ND oils though.

The results from the PQIA site has me worried as many of the ND oils sold are just used oil or pure garbage.

I have a new compressor and they say to put SAE40 ND oil in it. The Chalet oil is the only SAE40 ND oil readily available to me.

What are the chances of the Chalet oil being a clean ND SAE40 oil?

The oil is probably fine BUT I kind of agree with tomcat27. If you spend the extra few bucks for the Amsoil, you will be totally comfortable and not worrying about quality. Spend the extra money and be sure.JMHO

I actully have an Amsoil store in town and he's much cheaper than having it mailed but I'm not ready to put synthetic in it just yet.

Call me crazy if you want.

I was wandering about today, and at the General store, they had it there.. If you are nervous about the minor makers, maybe look for a bigger name.. Amalie (Wolf's Head), Pennzoil, etc... They all make ND too. an old school auto parts store that sells TOOLS will likely have it.
