Castrol vs Valvoline

My question was which product family would you choose if it came down to Castrol or Valvoline?

Valvoline is foreign owned? I thought they were from USA based out of Kentucky.

I think Valvoline is owned by a middle eastern country while Castrol is a UK company, not sure.

Castrol is on the selling block, by BP.

I noticed Castrol has a good following here with many stating it has a high quality base stock. As for Valvoline I only see posts about Valvoline Restore and Protect. Not too many on their other oils.

Castrol GTX full synthetic, 5000 oci or 6 months, whichever comes first. Otherwise, if you are going to do the forever oci thing, use the Castrol EDGE Extended Performance, gold bottle and change every 10,000 miles max or 1 year, whatever comes first. Use a premium filter. There is my opinion.

GTX Full Synthetic seems like a pointless product right now, considering on the shelf at Walmart it is currently only one cent cheaper than black bottle Edge per jug. Edge is the higher tier product so why not choose that?
