Hello
In my MINI Cooper S Works2005 I always use the deaer oil here in Portugal (Castrol SLX LL04
0w30).

It is possibel this oil (Castrol SLX) be the German Castrol 0w30? Or the German Castrol is different?

Note: SLX LL04 0w30

Best Regards and Congratulations for the Forum

Yours meets BMW LL04. That's a medium SAPS (Sulfated Ash, Phosphorous, Sulfur) oil. German Castrol that we have in the U.S. is not a medium SAPS oil and meets BMW LL01.

Hello
Thanks for reply´s

I go to see where is made... and I post here...

Then I do not have to move for another oil? For my driven style th SLX are a good choice?
SLX LL04 0w30 is a good oil for my car or the Castrol Edge Sport 0w 40 is better option?

Note: I have a sporty driven style (high rpm).

Best regards and sorry for the number of questions

The SLX LL04 meets obviously meets the LL04 spec which is no cake walk (quite demanding). I can't say what your best choice is. Try it and only abandon it if you find something you don't like about it like too much oil consumption or whatever or if it's crazy expensive compared to a similar oil.

Granted, but I'm still curious as to whether it says Made in Germany.

The LL04 0W-30 is probably bottled & blended in Germany, as this is where the Castrol tech center is located and also many synthetic oil/additive suppliers.

But, as JAG indicated, LL04 is the latest european spec for emmissions and the US "GC" is not blended to meet this spec.

BP Castrol has a lubricants division in Madrid, Spain, but it's very probable that the Spanish SLX & LL01 SLX are blended & bottled in Germany. But that's not an indication that it is the same exact formulation as the US market Syntec 0W-30.
