So right now I have Castrol Magnatec 5w30 simi synthetic in the sump of my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder 4.0V6 this truck sits outside all winter here in Western MA and it can get as low as -20F for several days or a week or more at a time in Jan. So I am wondering is Castrol Magnatec simi synthetic 5w30 ok at real low temps or should I switch to a 0w30 full synthetic for the winter?

You could sub a qt for 5w30 Castrol EDGE or 0w30. I used to use 0w20 magnatec and sometimes mixed Castrol EDGE 0w20 in also.

What specifically about the gas? My old BMW sits outside in northern Wisconsin where it sometimes gets to -25 and below.

Does a 0W have to be pao? Or can it be grp III?
In the past I have owned a few Nissan's and other Asian cars that had the fuel lines freeze and that would be my worry
whether currently valid or not in his vehicle.

That would be dependent on fuel quality, correct? Not anything to do with whether it was an Asian vehicle or otherwise.

There certainly are Group III 0w-XX options. There even have been blends.
