Castrol GTX usually is > $$ than Mobil Clean 5000

All other brands tend to be more expensive than Mobil Clean 5k, at least in my area.
Last time I bought MC5k it was $2.70/76 per Quart. GTX is over $3.00 a quart as are Valvoline PC, Pennzoil YB and other brands, cept maybe Supertech. Motorcraft is is in range of MC5k, maybe 10cents more?
GTX is a very good Dino oil from a performance and data perspective. Spoken about highly, but for the price you could use any dino and get nearly the same results. Check for sales on the cases, best way to win-out with GTX.

I wasn't even trying to question PYB but since you mention it, I've seen oil change specials at AAP where they both have 5 quarts of dino plus a purolator classic but the set with the Havoline is $12.99 while the set with the PYB is $15.99
Practically speaking, it's not a ton of money but it's the principle behind it that gets me and that fact that it's human nature to assume something you pay more for is better.

Don't get me wrong, PYB is stout stuff, but if your going to buy oil, Walmart has fantastic prices on the Jugs. Jugs are always cheaper than the quarts. You get get a 5qt jug of MotorCraft for 11.50, PYB for 11.50/12 last I checked. GTX is like 13-14 per 5qt Jug.
The AAP deal isn't bad, but when the deal is over I'd check out the oil Isle at wally world, heck even Kmart has a lot of oil deals going on lately.
The Havoline deal is a nice find, very good oil, especially for the price your getting it at, even PYB. Stock up while its cheap, so you can ride it out when its more expensive.

I'd rank GTX as better than MC5k, but I'd personally rate GTX, PYB, and Havoline as the best of the dinos. The Havoline deal at AAP is about the best dino deal going right now.
Castrol GTX seems higher here too.
I have not used in several years. As I recall BP bought them out a few years back.

I always liked GTX. It still is my preference for dino oil.
Castrol GTX and Havoline DS are my favorite dinos

Around here GTX is the highest everyday priced dino in jugs at Wally. At $14.50 it's $3.50 higher than MC5k and $3.00 higher than HavDS and MC Syn Blend 5w20. Not worth the price premium to me.
