I'm thinking of using GTX/GTX Synblend 5W-20 for a 6K OCI.Can this be done?I run mostly highway and I was going to have the oil checked/tested at 5K.I would be running a Wix filter. Thanks Joe

Highway miles don't hurt a vehicle very much. You can likely go 7,500 miles, but might need an oil analysis at 5K and 7.5K. Beyond that, a strong detergent package is needed for extended drains.

I had a 06 Ram with the 5.7. I would do 6K on Chevron, GTX, or Valvoline. Whatever was on sale when it was time to change the oil. So a API SN blend 6K should be easy that engine is hardly hard on a oil.

Just stop drinking the Pennzoil laced kool-aid, you'll see the light again.

I will when you admit there was a very good reason your oil company failed. No amount of bitterness will change the past.

He's saying you can likely go 7500 miles however to be safe he would get it tested at 5000 just to sure it's still good.
And I assume he's saying going beyond 7500 miles would require an oil with a strong detergent/dispersant package.
I hope I've interpreted this correctly,If not I apologize.

Go to the Castrol site: GTX in 5W-20 & 5w30 meets CHRYSLER MS-6395,
but not FORD's WSS-M2C929-A or WSS-M2C946-A in 5W-20 weight, and not FORD's WSS-M2C153-H or WSS-M2C930-A & WSS-M2C945-A in 5w30 weights...

Are you good and confused? Read their GTX Product Data Chart and you'll REALLY be confused!
