It appears Castrol is losing the supplier battle at Tractor Supply and Home Depot.

Tractor Supply is just starting to convert from Castrol to Valvoline in their stores (according to a store manager here in TX). I picked up Full Synthetic (FS) and High Mileage (HM) for $6.99/5qt jug and $1.49/qt any weight including diesel. The price tags in the clearance section do not show these prices. Price is holding true in MS and TX so far.

There have been post on HD swapping to Pennzoil and the High Mileage for $6.30/5qt jug. I have not been able to find any at my local stores but did score some quarts for $0.70 each yesterday. This also appears to be any weight, but cannot confirm.

Dang, and I was just at that HD a couple hours before you were, probably spent a couple hours trying to figure out the store layout. Just my luck... :-) Apparently the Magnolia HD has some 10W-30 PP on markdown but still haven't been able to find it.

Will try to hit up the TS here in Willis to see if they have anything worth grabbing.

That's awesome. How did you know about this? Looks like the prices aren't even reflected on the website

I always ask them to scan prices for stuff on the clearance shelf. About 1/2 the time it is less than the tagged price.

Hit up my local tractor supply store in a Philly, pa suburb. No castrol in the motor oil aisle. Asked if they had a clearance section and they do with one quart of castrol full synthetic at $6.79. Ill pass.

Two jugs of chevron delo 15w40 at 19.99 a gallon. Another pass.

But these are on clearance. Just depends on how much your store is discounting them and how much is left.

Good idea. Went back in and they scanned at the register as same price as in-store mode showed when I scanned the barcode. Was still worth a shot

Willis store has a bunch of 5qt jugs - mostly HM in 5-20 and 5-30, and a couple of GTX FS 5-20 and 5-30. I tried to grab the FS 5-30, clearance stickered at 26.99, but it rang up at sticker price. No thanks.

Just hit my local TSC store N clearance table but 1 older style Traveller 15w40 jug. No shelf tag, lady scanned it; woo hoo $4.79!

Not too shabby. Looked online at store closer to my work and nothing it appears according to their site

Home Depot was clearance with stock near me. $8 for 5qt and $1.xx for singles. However, they couldn’t find any. Guessing it flew off the clearance shelf when it was marked down. There’s a tractor supply nearby that shows stock on Castrol but I’ll have to check and see what it rings for.

girlfriend went to a Tractor Supply near her work bit ago. Jokers put 5 individual quarts on high shelf. She grabbed all them, saw they marked $8.99

Took all to front. Scanned $6.99. 🤬🤬

What a joke

Those non big brand name HDEO oils are really great deals when people see the VOA. (y)
