I see, thanks for your help! Anyway does anyone have any input on rotella 5w-40 synthetic for my next change? Feedback please, I would like to see some better results as it seems my results with Castrol seems okay.

RTS 5W-40 would be a GREAT oil for your engine. I wouldn't run a dino oil in a turbo car, you got bad advice!

So if you didn't actually add 4 qts. as "make-up" oil, are you adding enough at the oil change?

Your sump holds 4.8 qts (including oil filter) and a lot of people just throw in 5 quarts.

GTX did great in this application. We do however need the makeup oil clarified to decided conclusively

Rotella 5w-40 looks great on both those UOA's; for the next oil change i may switch to rotella. As i know what make up oil really is now; i did not add any make up oil during this interval with the GTX if that helps. Thanks for all the advice and tips! I may just run synthetic oil as of now and see how that runs or stick with the castrol. The Rotella is also a cheaper solution that may be more convenient for me.

Pretty good showing for GTX since no makeup oil was added. A tbn would of been tasty.

sorry but may i ask what a Tbn is?

Total base number. The amount of active additive left to neutralize acids formed in the oil.
