Currently running the up-to-date SP A3/B4 5w40 in my 6.0 Chevy.

Absolutely! But, European vehicles call for approval, not grade, except in very few instances.
0W40 is around 50% PAO. I used it on track, 5k OCI, excellent results. 0W30 is basically just bit thinner version with lower Noack.

Castrol posts range in MSDS. Not all blenders post that, but pour point is good indicator (mostly). castrol 0W30/40 currently is -45 but MADS indicates up to 50% PAO. Probably lower than that based on pour point.
But if pour point is below -50, definitely healthy dosage of PAO.

edyvw...so, a little late to this party...I own a few VW models...the latest is a 2025 Golf R. VW uses "Castrol 0w30." I cannot get any information about this oil, and I would prefer to know what they are using. I stopped performing my own oil changes last year - I'm old ...I bring them Mobil 1 Euro 5W30...which is a pain, but perhaps I should continue with this practice?

I will use this car on the track a hand full of times every summer, and it is stored in a heated garage December - April...if that matters?

Thank you...I tried to search for Castrol Edge Euro 0W30 NOACK volatility...seems to be around 9...

...from above, a PAO of 50% is good?

Interesting. I just posted a VOA of the VW/Audi brand black bottle 0W30 that seems to reconcile with their partnership with Castrol; good bit of Titanium in it.

Castrol seem to be the only company using titanium...is this added as a band aid - apologies for the non-technical term - because it doesn't meet other higher specifications or is titanium really good?
