Can anyone fill me in as it was mentioned that Lubrizol is used (not too familiar with it) in a VOA thread

They claim 8x better wear vs. Mobil 1 5w30 on their website as well.

How do these products stack up against say Amsoil HDD 5w30 from snow blower use?

Thanks.

I am really getting tired of all this 4X and 8X better [censored]. No offense to you, just the oil companies. Modern oils are already Very good and underrated by many of us. Im not saying its not possible for Castrol Edge to be better ( in some categories/tests)but I really dont like the 8X better [censored].

Let's see how it does. The proof is in the pudding. I would say in a snow blower you will never see a difference. Castrol Edge looks over priced to me. I cant talk though, I run Redline in my pressure washer!

But comparing Redline or Amsoil to castrol Edge in my opinion is like apples and Oranges. Group III for $34.00 dollars at WM= Madness.

How about this for a hypothesis - maybe we (the forum goers of the world) are the root cause of all that!!!

As soon as a "newest/greatest/etc.." oil is introduced, word spreads at the forums, and everybody runs off to buy it. The marketing guys aren't dumb.

Then, as time goes by and some hard data is obtained, we discover it's pretty much the same as the 'old' latest/greatest, BUT, wait a minute, there's ANOTHER new one out there, so the whole cycle repeats.
