Last Saturday, I happened to be at an AA store and I noticed they were carrying Castrol Edge 0w40. Technically, none of my cars use 0w40, but I have noticed that the Mobil website recommends 0w40 for my 95' Mercedes E320 (Manufacturer specs. call for either 5w40 or 10w40)even though it has 118500 miles on it. Seeing that it's BOGO right now, should I try it? I just recently bought 36 quarts of Valvoline Nextgen Maxlife 10w40 and 15 quarts of Peak conventional 10w40, so I really won't need any oil for the car for a good while, but I do keep wondering how 0w40 would be compared to 10w40.

I thought there were reports from the field that 0W-40 is not covered by BOGO; YMMV.
Oh the irony. AAP stores in the south of the country are the ones that stock Edge 0w-40, but it's nowhere to found in their stores up north. They can't even special order it.
Don't worry about buying it. You have plenty of oil and the 10w40 will work OK for our FL climate. It won't necessarily make your car run any better so just carry on with conventional and factory recommended OCI.

Pretty sure it's covered by BOGO. The BOGO sign was right under the 0w40 bottles. In any case, it neither the flyer nor the signs stated that it was excluded.

AAP's website says it's excluded, but it looks like most stores don't know about it so you're probably good to go.

It was actually at only one of three stores I visited. The two near my house had 5w40, which I needed for my brother-in-law's 09' Jetta (The BOGO was perfect timing. It was actually time for his yearly oil change). It was strictly by chance that I was at the third store and saw the 0w40.

No arguments here. I just thought it might be cool to have some 0w40 synthetic oil around. I've been doing my own oil changes since I was in high school back in the 80's and I've always used oils that were either a 5 or 10 weight. I normally don't see 0w40 oil, so having a 0 weight oil is practically exotic for me.

Rare bird that is teasing us. If you use the AAP cart it doesn't ring up BOGO but at least one BITOG'er on the sales forum said he scored some BOGO so who knows, I think finding it is the hardest part!
