Castrol Edge 0w-30 LL-04 for 2021 BMW 330i B48 (EU)

I have bought a 2021 BMW 330i B48 ( low mileage 20k miles), what oil is the best if i still want to keep the warranty, according to the manual i can run LL-04, i did already buy some Castrol edge 0w-30 LL-04 will that be ok, i dont understand how it can be LL-04 and LL-19FE at the same time,
LL-04 is 3.5 HTHS ?

It probably passes a fuel efficiency test. LL12FE has a min HTHS but no max that I can find. This oil also has ACEA C2.
M1 ESP 5w30 is similar. It is LL04 and also C3/C2.

I would just run the LL04 since it is allowed.

Yes ll-04 is minimum 3.5 hths and is good to use. In the US the b48 allows the use of ll-01. It's the ll-17fe that's the 20 grade oil. I didn't know bmw allowed the use of 5w-20, maybe only for topping off and acea c2 or c3 being the minimum required if it doesn't have the spec. I can't read that.

Some bmw's spec 0w-12 but even then they allow the use of 0w-30 ll-01fe in the owners manual.

Don't take what I say to the bank here, but looks like the Castrol you are looking at here is good. A couple more choices may be Mobil 1 ESP 0w-30 and Liqui Moly Top Tec 4210 0w-30. All have the oil spec you are looking for with >3.5 HTHS. Check it out though, don't trust me.

Yes it says acea c2 or c3 being the minimum required if it doesn't have the LL-04, LL-12FE or LL-17FE spec

Both have HTHS 3.5 or higher.

It typically does because HTHS impacts fuel economy however oil company have tricks up their sleeves.

I have the same car and use Liqui Moly 6600, which is LL17FE+, 0w20. For a while, it was difficult to source this spec, and it is still expensive. I think the Castrol Edge is fine, but the dealer mechanic told me the thin oil is preferred.
