Very interesting!
Shows what I know.
But, then, I buy my oil at Walmart. And they definitely don't stock it on their shelves.
Very interesting!
I know I've read that there are certain elements that are LSPI "quenchers" (eg. Mo, Zn, Ph, and maybe magnesium). From what I gather it would need to have <800 PPM Phosphorus to meet SP. Whether there is a calcium limit for SP it's been the trend to reduce calcium at the very least towards reducing LSPI.
EDIT: I just bing searched & this link seems to say the same from PQIA. That there is no limit for Calcium for SP but the trend is there to reduce it.

It's new-ish.M1 FS 5W-30?
I don't remember seeing that grade.
I’ll have a VOA and UOA of M1 FS 5w-30 in about 6-8 weeks. Currently running it in my Accord w/K24.It's new-ish.
Very curious about the differences between M1 FS 5W-30 and ESP 5W-30, especially base oils used.I’ll have a VOA and UOA of M1 FS 5w-30 in about 6-8 weeks. Currently running it in my Accord w/K24.
Which oils? Those oils are sold only in EU, but things can change. I would go with the Castrol 0w-30 C3 oil over the LL
sorry, was confusing with this oil. Never mindWhich oils?
The Edge 0W-30 LL I posted the photo of was a barrel of bulk oil at a Hyundai dealership in the USA.
They use it to service the Hyundai N cars (Veloster, Kona, Elantra), which call for a 0W-30.
personally i would go with the dealer oil.Which oils?

i have posted about these oils once more. What’s the difference between Castrol Edge 0W-30 (API-SP) and Castrol Edge 0W-30 LL?
I haven’t been able to find much about the “LL” version.
Mid saps vs full saps. Remember all the debates about what the FS stood for?Very curious about the differences between M1 FS 5W-30 and ESP 5W-30, especially base oils used.
Doesn't it say BMW Long Life on the barrel? What does the LL stand for? Is it a reference to BMW Long Life?
yesWhat does the LL stand for? Is it a reference to BMW Long Life?
Castrol likes to put random letters like K after some of their euro oils, so who knows? What does the LL stand for? Is it a reference to BMW Long Life?
