Carlos Tavares, Stellantis CEO, Steps Down

But does he stay on the Board as a member? There was rumors since the whole process started for his successor that he would still stay around as a Board member still sticking his fingers in things.

What's even more surprising is that the grandson of the original Chrysler corp raised money and reached out to buy Chrysler back and Stellantis said no. Here was an easy sale, deadweight gone and money in the bank.
Very poor move on the Grandson's part. The problems run very deep. RAM will be sold. Jeep will be sold-to automakers with deeper pockets than what the Grandson has raised-and will have to raise.

Volkswagen and Hyundai could be very interested.

Did they actually put an offer on the table? All I saw was more or less a social media post that they wanted it back?

Stellantis is DONE. Will be sold piecemeal to other automakers.
Do you mean Stellantis will sell the former Chrysler parts - or Stellantis will get bought ?

Stellantis has one of the lowest debt loads in the entire auto industry - like $30B long term debt on $200B in sales. There literally the best in the industry except for Tesla, 6X better than Ford, 4X better than GM.

Just about every auto OEM is going to need to restructure with the slow down in global sales and higher rates. However Stellantis has the balance sheet to do it. In fact, they may actually by in a position to buy someone.

Love it when someone brings the facts.

I think all the Stellantis haters here are going to be very dissapointed as this plays out.

Is this how China buys it's way into US/Canada auto markets?
Hmmm, so Stellantis off-loads the Chrysler parts on to BYD. BYD sells there designs under Chrysler badge? Not a bad plan, but they would still need to be built here to get around the tarrif's.

Still, I don't think China's plan is to invest in the USA manufacturing - but might change?

Stellantis isn't going anywhere but they do have some serious problems in the US. Pricing, huge holes in their product line up are killing them.

I hate to say it, but Chrysler and Dodge brands should just go away. Get Jeep and Ram pricing inline, focus on SUVs and pickups. Launch a Maverick competitor.

Might happen- just have to figure out what to do with the Charger

Why is he stepping down? Truck sales are above board. I see chargers abd challengers and jeep all over the place? :ROFLMAO:
