Carfax cracking down on copycats

I actually like CARFAX for looking for used cars. I like to see where location wise the vehicle was bought and used. For salt and rust purpose would not pick a Michigan, Illinois or jersey car over a Tennessee or Arizona car

You can weed out cars before wasting time visually inspecting them

CarFax is a useful tool when shopping for a used car, but it is not the be-all and end-all they claim it to be. It's typically missing a lot of critical data and only one part of researching a car's history. I think they're up to $40 a report now? Absolutely ridiculous.

I don't know that CarFax claims they show everything, do they ? Then people act like it's CarFax's fault when data is missing when it's the shop(s) that don't report it.

Have you seen the advertisements CarFax puts out? They certainly give the impression that they show everything and you can't buy a car without one.
