Dealer add on prices.

That lease is ridiculous.

My understanding is they lose out on the commission/incentive/whatever you call it unless a certain amount of payments are made. I can’t even remember if I made one payment or not before refinancing. But if I did, it was only the one.
Interesting....I would love to bust through the "huge discount conundrum." Here in Phila., there are always 0-4 and normally 0-2 Tahoes on the lot. Most dealers show list price. Every once in a while a discount shows up, not huge--someone in the business knows why. In East Hartford, CT, Tahoes are $3,000 over list. Different market?

Now, got to Chicago or Dallas, and getting a $6k sometimes $8k discount showing online is easy--15-23 Tahoes on the lot. It would be very, very, very, interesting, to see what the add ons are. I even learned a new word through my internet searches: "upfit." That's not included.

In other words, you're not walking out of there with $6k off, or $8k off, BUT, some have said, even with the add ons and shipping to say the east coast, they still made out better than their local dealer.

This is a very draining process to say the least! :ROFLMAO:

The used car market is challenging, especially when you go private. Word of mouth helps. Back in the day, I would take my floor jack with me to thoroughly check out a private sale used car to check underneath ( exhaust, leaks, etc ) Yeh, the seller didn't like my floor jack wheels on his asphalt driveway, so I would take a 1/4 sheet of 3'4" plywood so I wouldn't make marks on their " precious " driveway. Screw them. I was checking that car !!!!!!!

I've sold cars private party, there is no way I would let a buyer jack it up or take anything apart.

IBut to the $80,000, they add freight. Why? Destination is already included in MSRP. Freight on top of that?

So in reality, it's not an $8,025 discount. Freight happens to be one of the add ons items. What are the rest going to be? It's like buying from Will Ferrell

I could see adding an additional freight charge if it needed to come from another dealer as a dealer trade
