Cardone Rmfd Water pump?

Since I have the sytstem drained, I'm going to replace the OEM water pump, since it's probably going to be on it's way out. (Water pump on these 2.2L is infamous) I was looking, and Advance carries a Cardone Reman for $14 with $5 core charge. So a new water pump for $9. Are these good? Not have to worry about it again after this? It will be Zerex G-05, not Dexcool.

i've installed a few of them and never had one come back, they seem ok as far as fit and finish.

Nothing but bad luck with Cardone here.Check Rock Auto for new.

most of time i use gmb and had great luck with them, but like i said before i've never had a prob with cardone either.

I installed a A1 CarDone 'severe duty' water pump on my old Cavi.
No problems for the 10k it was on before the car was sold...
On the severe duty pumps only the casing is reused, everything else is new and it uses upgraded bearings.
58328H is the number.

Just so you know, your logic on core charges is wrong. It is $14 with a core. If you don't have the core they will charge you an extra $5. Believe me, I work for autozone.

Not how it worked from NAPA and advance. They gave us a refund for the core charge when we returned it. ($70 alternator, $25 core charge, they charged $70 and credited $25 when we returned the old one)

That's not how it is at the Napa I work at. If it's $70 and $25 core charge, you pay $95. Then you get the $25 back when you return the core.

That's not how it is at the Napa I work at. If it's $70 and $25 core charge, you pay $95. Then you get the $25 back when you return the core.


Dunno, maybe at ours they just combined the costs into one for simplicity.

I never saw the core price included it is always extra then refunded.Who knows maybe your store just adds the core into the quoted price.

Since you appear to actually take care of your car, maybe change the AF once in a while, you may not need a pump like the common masses.

just my opinion but since your in there and it had dex-cool i'd just replace it.

I agree. My grandfather change the coolant precisely twice. Once at 5 years, and once at 10. That's more than most people do, but since the belt is off, and it's like, 3 bolts, I might as well replace it for $9 or $14 or whatever it is.
