I just cracked into my new bottle of Motomaster Formula 1 TC-W3 rated 2-Stroke premix oil.
This stuff actually smells very Ammonia...
And, boy, it sure lightened up the throttle response after only a few short trips.
2-Stroke oil is loaded with cleaners, and as it cleans the back of the intake valves, the slight oil residue it leaves behind seems to discourage hard carbon from building on the back of the valves.
I guess it is like putting butter in a cast iron pan before making eggs.
Shell's newer 2T premix outboard oils are a winner IMO.
I was previously using an ancient bottle of Shell Nautilus, that was dusty from being on the store shelf for so long.
This new stuff really seems to clean!
