My driver seat already wearing out. Kinda suck to see how German stuffs wears out quickly than Japanese car.

I'm just saying get ready for it. You'll get a CEL when the flaps stop working, either the high speed or low speed rpms. If you use the repair kit, eventually the flaps get gummed up and break up and once inside the engine, it can cause some damage which is why it's better to replace the entire intake instead of using the kit. I'd only use the kit if you're planning on getting rid of it soon. Just wait til it happens, could last til 160k in which case you have a few years.

As for the seat, just happened to be bad QC for those particular years. It used to be pretty good in previous years/models. Supposedly the thread wasn't very good, but the replacement is supposed to be better. Too bad the seat cover is over $200 and will probably cost around that to find a shop to replace it.

Do you know if they made an improvement on the new intake manifold? If they did then I need to buy it from the mecredes dealership and how I know the difference between them to?

Can you check out this video, this shop only changed the kit instead of replacing the whole intake manifold.

Probably the same. It just gets gummed up over time. But if it last between 100-160k, you probably don't have to worry about it again. Pierburg is the OEM maker for Mercedes so all you have to do is buy the Pierbug one. Sorta like how Wahler makes the thermostat for Mercedes, the Wahler one is about 1/3 cheaper, same with the Pierbug, $530 vs $800. As I said earlier, even if you use the kit, the insides of the flaps gets gummed up too, then bits of it breaks off and ends up in the engine which damages it. You're better off replacing the manifold instead of just using the kit. The kit would probably be good if you don't care about it that much and just want to patch it for a little while til you get rid of it. I'm just waiting for mine to go before I do anything. The reasons the flaps break off is that as they get gummed up, it becomes more difficult to move around and hence those bits from the kit are weak and break off. So if you replace them with the metal kit making it stronger, eventually the flaps get more gummed up and bits break off.

I'm going to replace the intake manifold because I'm keeping it long term. Any good online store that I can purchase brand new intake? I seen a lot of them are rebuilt or refurbished.

I'm at 121k and I'm just waiting til it runs rough or I get a CEL indicating an intake problem. There's a few youtube videos on how to replace it. Just shop around for Pierburg. Fcpeuro has it for $530 with the kit.

Honestly, you're just jumping the gun replacing it now. There's lots of other parts that will also wear out eventually, but I wouldn't replace them til they actually wear out. I remember thinking that in a previous car that the starter or water pump was eventually going to need replacement, but somehow they managed to last 200k+ before the rest of the car died and I never ended up changing them.

Yes I can understand what you trying to say and you are right about me replacing the intake to soon. I'm freaking out that's why I wanted to replace it and someone told me sometime cel do not come on.

i just want to make sure I get a brand new intake,I do not want a rebuilt or remanufacture kind. if I decided to buy that intake from the link I provided above then I will buy aga manifold intake lever kit also.

I was also thinking of doing porting service for intake and I'm going to ask them if they can make a aluminum flaps on internal part of the intake manifold better.

Thinking of calling this shops tomorrow:

I haven't had the intake problem yet. Those other problems like motor mounts, pulleys/thermostats etc are more likely. You should also get the car scanned to see if there's any MB specific fault codes. But you should get your own scanner that can do MB specific codes, either icarsoft or Autel Diaglink. Going to do my springs/struts soon. I believe it will start to run rough once it starts to go and I think the condition needs to be present for a certain amount of time before it triggers the CEL. But if it's running smooth, it's probably not a problem. Basically when the runners can't move because the levers are broken or are gummed up, the car will either run rough at high rpms or low rpms depending on what position the flaps are in.

I will buy the scanner in the future and I know all other stuffs need to be change also. I need to save a lot of money for parts.

Right now car is running fine so for now I'm going to save money for parts.

Thanks you for your help and I appreciated your advice.

I paid cash for mine and don't need to save anything for repairs. I wouldn't bother with the intake until it needs it. I was just making you aware it's down the road.
