Can't Find Mobil 1 (old formula)

So I have been to 6 different stores in Northern California, specifically looking for Mobil 1 in 10w30, 5w20 or 0w20 Fully Synthetic (the old smaller label from last year).

All I can find is the new stuff (bigger label, same bottle) which is suppposedly the new 'reformulation' in 2007. It's like all the stores around here pulled the old bottles and shipped them off somewhere. I can't imagine THAT many people running out and buying up Mobil 1 all at once.


Anyone know what happened? Is this another brand subject to mass volume purchase and soon to be on the shelves at Big Lots? Or am I just being paranoid here?

The sales volume on M1 is probably as high and all the other synthetic oils combined. The reason you not finding the old stuff around is that the inventory is actually moving and being turned...

Go to Kmart as they never rotate their oils

I can vouch for Kmart not rotating their oils. I went there the other day to see what kind of gear lube they carried. I quickly scanned the motor oil offerings and saw that they had some Pennzoil Long Life oil from before Pennzoil was bought by Shell! You think its still good?

Heck, I know if one K-mart where there was an API SH oil on the shelf.
