Canadian Rotella T SB 0W-40

I have been using Delvac 1 in my motorcycle for some time but they have stopped stocking it at Walmart. I noticed Rotella T SB 0W-40 at CTC and the jug stated "100% synthetic*". The astrisk caught my eye. I figured SB meant synthetic blend, so I called Shell Canada and was told that yes, the 0W-40 and 5W-40 are 100% synthetic and the 10W-40, 5W-30 and 0W-30 are indeed blends. Does anyone know the scoop on this topic?

I believe I've read somewhere that, yes, Rotella T 0w40 is in fact a full PAO synthetic, can't quite remember where though.

I looked into it and the oil is 100% synthetic. It is also 100% too much money. Go to your Esso bulk dealer and pick up their 0w30 or 0w40 for much much less. You will have to buy atleast 12 litres so you'll have enough for about 4 oil changes. The Rotella did increase my compression after 7500 km but I bet the XD3 would have too.

Is that the Rotella T SB 0w-40 in the black jug? If so...it is $30.00 per 4 litre here. Maybe it goes on sale. I just noticed it for the first time last weekend. I would use it in my motorcycle which takes 2.5 litres per change (probably once or twice per season). So I don't need much at all.

My local shell bulk station has the 4 litre jugs of Rotella for 24CDN. I may have even seen some 1 litre bottles kicking around when I was there.

Rotella T 0w40 goes for $23.99 at Canadian Tire. Esso XD3 0w40 goes for $21.93 at Walmart. Not much of a price difference there, but if you were to go to an Esso bulk dealer you'd get the XD3 a lot cheaper I'm told.

I have this question concerning Shell's Rotella T SB 0W-40 oil.

Is the Rotella T SB 0W-40 is a polyalphaolefin (PAO), a Group III, or something else?
