Chevron seems to be changing up/simplifying its Delo products a bit:
https://www.chevronlubricants.com/en_us/home/products/by_brand/delo.html?src-tab=products

They are discontinuing:
  • 400 SDE 10w30
  • 400 SDE 15w40
  • 400 XLE 15w40.
They will be replaced by Delo 400 XLE SB SAE 15w40 which is a synthetic blend and CK-4, CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS,CI-4, CH-4, SN rated:

That PDF still has the regular XLE a few pages back. And the pour point of the regular XLE is far superior to the SB, if it’s correct… and it has been listed about there for a long while now…

Here's the Discontinued oil.

They received more "Approvals" & IMO a beefier additive pack like Phosphorus to meet Ford Spec on this newest product. The Cold Crank test seems to, slightly, favor the old 15w40 (Synblend) product mentioned below. Apparently it was already a synthetic blend before. You can see (Synblend) in the title before naming it SB.

Then there's this product you're referring to 15w40 SDE (Synblend) that has that low -54F pour point. Product number 257004. This must of been the product you're talking about & it appears it was launched around the time of CK-4.

No, the standard old blue bottle sde has had a fantastic pour point, fwiw, if it’s real, for a long while.

XLE also has a great pour point, and I didn’t pick up on thst being the second product in the pds above.

But look at the blue bottle delo I linked to…

Understood, & it did have a lower pour point. Though the Cold Crank Test, very slightly, shows the new SB product performs better. This brand would do better w/me if they'd offer rebates via Wal-Mart but that's a different subject.
